Clinic Patient Advocate Services

The role of clinic patient advocate was established to provide the patient and the patient's care team with the following services:

  • Obtain detailed patient insurance benefit information for all aspects of cancer care, including outpatient services and prescription drugs
  • Obtain necessary payor authorizations for outpatient services or prescription drugs
  • Advise patients on insurance and billing issues and options
  • Work with patients, families and care team members to help address insurance coverage gaps via alternative funding options
  • Assist patients who are uninsured to access other funding resources, and assist patient in completing required documentation
  • Upon request, submit supporting treatment documentation for patient reimbursement to cancer policy administrators
