An average day includes preparing patients for the doctor, talking with patients on the phone, staying organized, managing walk-in patients and following up with lab work and test results.

Qualifications

Applicants for our clinic nurse positions should have the following qualifications.

• Graduate from a CCNE or NLN accredited school of Nursing or graduate of an accredited school of Licensed Practical Nursing required.
• Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in which the clinic is located and/or meeting the requirements of Multi-state licensure required.
• CPR completion required.

Note that other qualifications might be required based on position and experience.

Common Questions

Q: Do Clinic Nurses work evenings and weekends?
Clinic Nurses are scheduled to work the same hours that the clinic is open. Some clinics are open during evening and weekend hours. If this is the case, clinic nurses typically work a rotation to cover those hours.

Q: Do Clinic Nurses work for one physician or multiple physicians?
This depends on the individual clinic. Most of our clinics are organized as a care team. Each Care Team consists of a Physician, a Clinic Nurse, and a Patient Service Representative. This team approach offers continuity of care for our patients and assists our staff in developing relationships with our patients.
